Joint and muscle stiffness seems to follow me
So I started Rituxan last week. I do a lot to manage my health naturally, but my RA is severe enough that I need more. I can’t even imagine what things would be like without diet/oils/supplements/exercise – it definitely takes a balance of many different things to keep me moving and keep the joint and muscle stiffness at bay.
I had just a bit of tiredness and nausea the couple days after the infusion. Completely manageable. And let me tell you, the IV steroids they gave prior to the Rituxan sure made my joints & nodules improve. I asked my rheumy how long it would last and she was uncertain.
Ever feel like you can’ t win?
Well. Let me tell you how long those steroids lasted…..until just after bedtime Saturday night. Not fun. We were staying in a hotel for a volleyball tournament. I got up early to shower and my feet and ankles were yelling at me. Loudly. I know you all understand. I had plans on an aroma touch rub down after showering, but oh.my.goodness…… As I tentatively stepped out of the shower, my feet came out from under me and I completely wiped out. Thankfully I didn’t break anything but I now know what it feels like to be hit by a truck. I haven’t felt this level of joint and muscle stiffness in a long time.
I share this because I want to let you know the things that have helped me get back on my feet in just a few days. Without using my arsenal of oils and supplements, I’m not sure I’d be moving very much yet.
And why I always travel with oils….
Always stellar for joint and muscle stiffness, regardless of the reason: the Aromatouch blend. It’s a combination of Cypress, Peppermint, Marjoram, Basil, Grapefruit, and Lavender . Known as the massage blend, I use it often in baths or for topical massage. I added some to my unscented lotion and practically rubbed down my entire body right afterwards. It’s just amazing for relaxation and lessening tension.
Deep Blue Rub saved the day for a couple of spots that needed extra attention (my right foot and left wrist). The ingredients are designed to soothe discomfort and support healthy inflammatory levels.
I also had Deep Blue Polyphenol Complex with me (I always travel with some because, well you never know when you’ll end up on your a$ in the bathroom..This is an incredible compliment to Deep Blue Rub. Many take it as part of their daily routine and others use as needed when joint and muscle stiffness is at its worst. It contains extracts of ginger, curcumin, resveratrol, and other polyphenols shown to help support muscle and joint comfort and function – and soothe occasional aches.
I managed to get through the day coaching at the tournament. Thankfully we played (& won) only two matches. Not sure how things would have gone if we were there much longer…..
Since we’ve been home I’m fortunate to be able to rest my body (working from home certainly has it perks) while still taking care of my oil community. I’ve added in daily Epsom Salt soaks with Aromatouch (add 8-10 drops of Aromatouch into 2 cups of Epsom salts. It’s important to soak for a while – 30 minutes at least – so that your body can get the most benefit from the magnesium in the salts)
So, my “Bumps and Bruises” Joint & Muscle Stiffness Protocol:
- Aromatouch on areas of concern 2 times per day
- Deep Blue Polyphenol Complex 2-3 times per day
- Copaiba sublingually 2x daily
- Deep Blue Rub as needed
- Daily Epsom Salt bath with oils such as Aromatouch, Lavender, Petitgrain, Cypress
- Additional oil massage with Copaiba, Turmeric, and Yarrow Pom in a roller (5-8 drops each in a 10mL roller) 2 times per day
I can’t stress enough how much this helped me. I put all of it together in a set for you all to make it super simple to follow the protocol. If you’d like to talk about putting a custom order together, I’m happy to help. Schedule a call with me and we’ll get to chatting.
Right now, I need to go fold the mound of laundry in the family room since I actually feel up to doing it today. SUCCESS!
